Everyone has a passion. Plenty of times it exists outside of the work you do to give yourself a stable living. A hobby is what you do in your spare time, when you have the opportunity, but that doesn’t have to be the case. There are ways to turn your hobby into a career that pays the bills and gives you the freedom you want to spend the rest of your life doing what you love.
First you need to market what you do into a business. Whether it’s flying model airplanes or spending time at a casino you have to determine what skill set you can pull from that and put into a career that is more in line with doing what you love.
Once you have determined what it is you can do (and perhaps that will involve a little research or applying for existing jobs) the next thing you can do is be pro-active about generating business. If you like to put model airplanes together, perhaps assembling them at a mass rate and selling them to people is a way to go. If you buy in bulk you could sell at a profit.
No matter what the job is, the most important thing you can do is market yourself as an expert in that field. Look at other guys that are doing the kind of thing you want to do. How did they get there? What were they doing that you weren’t?
Don’t get discouraged. If you love something then it should be what you are doing for the rest of your life. Just keeping searching for the right avenue and everything will work out.
